Okay, I was reading in another thread about High-n-tights and premature ejaculations.

Here's my question to the guys......

Once you feel that you are going to climax, are you able to STOP in order to prolong sexual activity?  Since I'm not a man, obviously, I can only go by what I feel.  I know that I am able to stop a climax.  So, are men able to do that?

Something I've been curious about for a while.

I suppose it differs from guy to guy but in my experience, there is a point of no return which get shorter with experience. For instance, very early on just the thought of the imminent encounter (and very little physical interaction) could have pushed me past that but the more experience you have the "more you can take" and still back off. Even then there is alway a point where one can't stop. It's an issue of both control and learning to set the pace as it were.

An orgasm is only premature if his sex partner is left frustrated. That can happen 3 minutes or 30 minutes in to the physical act. The intact gets a warning almost on penetration if not during foreplay, and could easily succumb to this urge. If physically mesmerized by his sex partner minutes could turn in to seconds if racing the clock with no intention of considering her status. That would be a true quickie, like between the first and fifth flour on  an elevator.  Prolonged sex can be a choice or lack of technique, compatibility, lack of knowledge of the  female anatomy and a slew of other reasons but climaxes delayed can cause soreness and a less intensive one. If a couple has an evening to kill there are seconds and thirds to consider. In the intact world simultaneous climaxes are triggered by the female's response. I understand guys circumcised don't have that precise a control.

Control has to be learned and every individual has to rely on his own methods. Sometimes thinking ugly, slowing the activity or even stopping for short intervals becomes necessary. This all depends a lot on whether the female also has a hair trigger or latent in pelvic arousal. One important fact is the intact male can release nearly instantaneously to time his impulses with hers once she reaches that point of no return.

The circumcised guy does not get that same warning according to scientific data I have read. Of those 20,000 or so of receptor/transmitters embedded in the foreskin about 20% of these (4000) are routed directly to the pelvic area nerve/muscle structure, primarily surrounding the prostate and the seminal ducts and the rest, 80% go to the brain to be processed before going to that area. This combination is destroyed by removal of the foreskin leaving all sexual stimulation to be processed by the brain. Once this accumulates and sent to the pelvis it is to late for the circed guy to delay the results. All five senses can contribute to our brains output of various chemicals needed to get and maintain an erection, for blood flow to increase to the female genitalia increasing sexual desire and swelling tissue that in turn squeezes lubricating ducts. For instance to maintain an erection the chemical prostaglandin among others is delivered to the penis in four second bursts that increase blood flow and limit the flow back through the veins. A knock on the door by MIL can instantly change that to a signal allowing the penis to shrivel faster then an ice sickle on a hot stove. That is a thumb nail explanation of a very complicated physiological/ psychological system designed by nature for procreation and pleasure. Anything man does to modify it will have a negative effect long term.

Excellent appraisals from Fellowtraveler and Dick (one brief, one comprehensive!).

The significant factor - from one who has experienced both the intact and circumcised state - is the ability of the natural penis to maintain an erection even if it's necessary to halt for a while. MIL interruption apart!

According to DH, who was circ'd at birth, once it starts you can't stop.  Also, once it gets to a certain point, it is very difficult if not almost impossible to stop it from coming.

From various different items that I have read, I understand that, in general, an intact male has a much easier time controlling his orgasm and holding off than a circ'd male does.  It's one of the many things that is lost during circumcision, and one of the many things that the general population of parents choosing circ don't know about.
