My husband and I have been dealing with secondary infertility for about 2 years now, since our daughter was 1yo. We found out I was pregnant dec/08 but I miscarried in Feb/09 at 11 weeks. We have been considering getting fertility help, but our insurance is horrible and only covers the testing minus the huge deductable. I've been researching Clomid to see if that is something we might want to try in the future and it made me wonder a few things.
Since miscarrying I have been ovulating 1-2 days after the end of my period, about day 6/7 of my cycle. All of the info I've found says that clomid would be taken starting either day 3 or day 5 of the cycle. So when would I take it? Are those days picked assuming a woman has a fairly regular cycle, or are those the days regardless? Would it also regulate when ovulation occurs or does it just induce eggs based on when you take it (in other words, would I continue to ovulate on days 6-7 of my cycle, or is that likely to change?)
I've also heard that women that take clomid have trouble getting medical insurance later on for some reason. Is that something that happens often?
Thanks for the help!
