I am going to copy your jerky idea for my DH and wanted to share one from my SIL.
What about one or two small bottles of wine or liquor? It doesn't have to turn his stocking into a mini-bar but maybe a bottle of an after dinner drink?
I also wanted to suggest a Christmas ornament. You can tailor those to the person pretty well.
Do you set a date that he isn't allowed to buy anything for himself after if not you have to set that. We have that date is Oct 1st in our home. I will be getting DH Windows 7 as it comes out Oct 22nd, I also plan to get him a gift card for his favorite computer store. I can always get some sort of new tool for my DH. Since he is growning out a beard what about a good trimmer to keep it shapped up nicely.
Tell him to stop being a PITA! (Pain in the Arse!) My Dad is fairly hard to do stocking for as well, we usually end up doing food for him! - box of choco. covered cherries - can of cashews - candy cherry slices - bottle of blueberry pancake syrup - scratch off lotto tickets - Step-Mom is an Avon Rep. and Dad uses their Wild Country scent in deodorant and cologne so he usually get some of that in his stocking. - our family plays card games at every gathering so we usually try to find some kind of new card game to put in. - he loves work gloves that have the tread/grippy stuff on them for working outdoors in the winter. - gift card for gas to Speedway. - gift card to his favorite local resturant -
That is about all I can thinkk of right now - hope this helps some! GOOD LUCK!
