Great Tips & Secrets for Holiday Shopping Online!

Wouldn't you rather be at home baking & making memories rather than with angry shoppers at the mall?  I am a busy Mom and a professed "Online Shopping Junkie!"  I have found many tips and secrets on how to get "hard to find items" and save lots of money by shopping online.  With 3 kids at home and a full time job-I would be lost without these great tips.  Christmas 2008 was done about 95% online and I couldn't begin to calculate the time & money I saved.  Here's some things I have learned!

Show Now for Great Clearance/Outlet Items:   It may seem early, but shopping the  clearance/outlet sections of popular retail sites is my favorite way to cut down on my shopping costs.  My Tweenie  Daughter is an Aeropostale/Hollister fanatic, I don't mind buying these clothes for her because they hold up forever, I just don't understand the "Designer Fad"we were just lucky to receive anything that wasn't a hand-me-down!  LOL!  They have great clearance sections and regularly email 30% off of clearance coupons if you sign up for their emails:   www.aeropostale.com  and www.hollisterco.com   go to their clearance sections and search everything-my pastime while watching TV and night w/family!

  • Awesome Stocking Stuffers, Jewelry, Gifts, Beauty & Skincare-Free Shipping, HUGE Discounts!   I have fallen back in love with AVON products!!!  They have fabulous sales on Jewelry/Stocking Stuffers for the holidays.  Their jewelry is top notch quality, the makeup/skincare  is highly rated in Allure/Glamour/Ladies Home Journal try any of their products and you will be hooked.  Best site to shop for discounts:  http://www.avonsavings.com  Items are shipped right to your door-Very Convenient!
  • Watch Online Trackers to Locate "Hard to Find Items" -These are very cool-I was able to get my kids' WII a couple of years ago when they were impossible to get by checking these sites regularly-they regularly monitory stock on hard to find items during the holidays and email you or you can even install a "pop alert" when your products is available online at the specified retailer.  Here are some good ones:  www.xpbargains.com  or www.nowinstock.net
  • Never, Never, Never Check out w/out Searching for a Coupon First!-Here are some great sites:  www.retailmenot.com  (love this one, one store I shop has a coupon for 20% off and free shipping posted 365 days of the year!  A lot of people with post coupons & employee discounts here as well-it's awesome!)  Another one is:  www.couponcabin.com   or www.momsview.com

*Will post other deals as I find them.  Please post your tips too-I love to hear of new ways to save money online and cool/unique gifts.

A tip I have is to plan your shopping to take advantage of free shipping 9it is a cost of online shopping that can add up!). You may have found that movie cheaper elsewhere but paying the extra $2 to buy it along with the book you were looking at getting so your purchase qualifies for free shipping may save you money overall.

You might also take advantage of websites like Mypoints that earn you points for online shopping that you can use for gift cards for next year.

I donated my freezer stash of EBM to another mom through
