Thanks for posting that! I have a friend who's going to have one done on Monday! I've been asking questions at the high risk board and CM reena suggested I come here to get questions etc.

I just sent a copy of that to my friend. There were a lot of good tips there.

My friend is having the surgery done because there are issues with the baby, water on the brain, and the mom developed the Gestational Diabetes.

I'm hoping everything turns out ok, I don't know for sure that there will be any problems. Another issue is she is from another country, her husband came home today but is only staying 2-3 weeks then going back overseas. I don't think she can take care of herself, the baby and her c-section rest properly.

Any advice or if you want more information, just ask!

Thanks in advance!

Hello to you! I am about to have my 4th c section in
February. I will say it is not easy. Your friend should def have someone there to help her at least for 2 or 3 days. I was without a partner for my 3rd one but I did stay with my brother's family. I got up in the night and fed and changed diapers and almost refused to let my family help me because I didn't want to inconvenience them. Even though they would not have looked at it that way. I did not ask for help until I felt like I was totally drained. The best advice I can give is for her to make herself rest when the baby is sleeping and to take a shower every day. It was so refreshing for me to get a shower. But it was hard to sleep during the day. I hope everything goes well!

Thanks for your reply. Wow 4 c-sections~ mama mia! ;)

Anyway, her husband is home on leave for only 2 weeks then he has to go back overseas again.

She doesn't drive, so that's an inconvenience, especially if she has to go back and forth to the hospital. I just started a new job, so I can't always take her. Before, she was always taking the taxi to the hospital.

Questions about her belly, how long before it goes down? She doesn't eat right, fried food, coke, no milk.. so her diet isn't the best.

Good luck to your family!

Well it's been a week, and my friend is home, so far everything seems ok.

I noticed when my mom was holding her last night... the baby seemed to be shaking a bit.. and even when she was holding her tight, seemed that her arms were moving too much.

Also, because of the surgery, my friend is taking oxycodone...for pain relief.. isn't that bad to take when you are nursing?

If you could let me know your thoughts, I'd appreciate it!
