Question about optional c-section?

Hey Rachel,
Thanks for stopping in to ask your question. Hopefully a few ladies will pop up to provide some input.
I have only had C sections, so I can't respond to the recovery time with a C vs. a vaginal birth. My sense, though, from others that have posted here is that the recovery from a C section is actually easier if you're going to end up with significant pelvic trauma from a vaginal birth. Many have commented that after having significant/severe tears and even reconstructive surgery... that a C section was 'nothin!
My experience was that my first C section was probably the worst. I had labored for 24 hours prior to giving birth though... but the hardest thing was not knowing what to expect. It can be a painful recovery... and you'll be sore for at least the first couple of weeks.
I think you could go either way in your situation. C sections will increase your birthing risks - so if you wanted to have a ton more kiddos, then it might not be a good option, but it doesn't sound like you're in that boat...
If you're sure that you want your tubes tied, you're ready to do it when this next one is born, and you're not tied to having a vaginal birth with the last one and/or see risks with a final vaginal birth... I say go for a C!~
Good luck with your decision!
