I've only had 1 c/s, so I can't answer all your questions. My dr said some physicians advise 3 as the limit, but if there are no health concerns then that's not "the law". Hopefully others will have actual experiences to share with you.

I've had 5. The second was 13 months after the first and the third was 15 months after the second and the fourth was 23 months after the third and fifth was 23 months after the fourth. So no, no trouble getting pregnant. My new OB said that when they cut you open that blood and amniotic fluid spills into the abdomen and can make everything stick together which can cause fertility problems. Scar tissue increases and so does chance of placental issues and uterine issues but many women have multiple Cs without problems.

With my fifth I had some issues, but not with my fourth. Then I know someone who had a uterine rupture at 9 weeks with her third (first two were c-sections.) so I think it just depends.

Welcome and congrats on your new little man! I can relate to your desire to have more... I've had 3 c sections and hope to have a few more.

My kids are 14 months and 19 months apart... so I never had issues getting pregnant after my C sections. I was always concerned about the "limiting factor" of having Cs and my doctor told me that it's really not a hard and fast rule that you can only have 3.. it's very much about you and your uterus.

There is an increased risk of placental issues when you have more C sections as there can be implantation on the scar... which if it's too bad can result in a hysterectomy... but the percentages don't get really significant until you're at 4+ Cs.

I found my last C section to be the easiest recovery, but that may have been because my first two were after long unmedicated labors... where as #3 was scheduled.

Hi Monika~I have had 3 c-sections and will be having my 4th (and final! lol) c-section in late Feb/Early March 2010....I have to admit i am very nervous about it. My recoveries were varied, but for the most part they got easier each time around.

I am delivering with a different dr and also at a different hospital and that has me scared the most, i think..also the fact that my current dr is adamant about me getting my tubes tied because 'going for a 5th c-section is way too risky'.

My oldest was 6 months old when i became pregnant again. That was actually my easiest pregnancy and delivery, despite the shorter time between pregnancies; this time around there will be just over 2 years between my children.
