Hi, My name is Maria  I gave birth last October to a 4lb & 7oz boy we named Vincent.  I had a scheduled c-section, He was not premature because my due date was right on. He stopped growing and ufortunately my doctor didn't know.  The doctor who delivered him said he was an IUGR baby but I'm not sure.  He was diagnosed with having torticollis when he was 2 months and has been seeing a P.T thru Early Intervention.  He also has braces for his feet. And one of his eyes is crossed, I have taken him to see a Pediatric eye doctor twice and the Dr. says he's fine and yet people constantly tell me we need a second opinion.

Vincent is  11 months and weighs 16lbs. He can roll over, sit with some assistant, he will reach for anything I put in front of him, he babbles, laughs and smiles. He has an appt with a Pediatric Neurologist and Opthamologist Oct 8 to have him checked out to see  if anything is wrong.

This has been hard on me not knowing, Everyone says he was premature and he will catch up and if that was true he should have already hit a lot of his milestones.  something caused him not to grow and he's delayed a lot. I look at him and what he's doing now reminds me of when my other kids were 6 months old.

HI and welcome!
Your little guy is adorable. My daughters eyes do that too, its called convergence and its from weak muscles. Hope you get some good answers from your upcoming appointments. Sounds like he is doing some really good things even though he's a little behind.
Glad you found us!

Hi Maria,

I was reading your post and just want to suggest, if you have not already, to rule out that the vision issues could be a contributor or cause of the torticollis.  My son has torticollis also, and I know of several people who went through years of PT, to find out later on that it was ocular torticollis.  Yahoo's torticolliskids board might be helpful for you.
