Just checking in to see what everyone's view on this is. There is so much mixed info out there and the numbers of kids affected are rising. What are you going to do, if its available?

I got the shot(nurse) and planned on Kristin getting vaccinated. I didn't really plan on there being enough for Kevin. The schools are doing them for kids K-12 so he can get it there so I guess I'll do it. I have mixed feelings for him especially. I hope Kristin will be able to get it in a reasonable amount of time from the doctors office. She is in preschool so she doesn't qualify through school. Makes no sense to me but whatever.

I plan on all of us getting the shot.
I know there's some varying opinions on it, but in my mind, the benefits are worth the risks.
I was just saying to dh last night that I normally don't think of the flu as a big deal; I mean, who the heck hasn't had the flu at one point in their life, right???.....BUT, then you hear of people getting REALLY sick....people dying.....
So yeah, if I can get us a shot to prevent that, then I'm on board.

Jill....mommy to Millie, July 29/05 - typical, and to Oliver, Nov 24/07 - hypotonia; gdd

Too late for us...I think we already had/have the flu! Started with one of the girls...fever for 3 days with body aches...then cough/cold/sore throat and just plain yucky. Went through the whole family...except for one of the girls. She is our nurse right now. :)

Just a note, you don't always get a fever with this....and my husband and I also had diahrrea in the mix (it wasn't constant...just a bout or two) That is why I think what we have is h1n1.

Sarah slept last night from 6pm till 8:30am this morning! Her fever was not too high and seems to be gone now and she finally ate some toast and drank a ton of juice this morning. I am so thankful...I was getting a little nervous. She is pretty congested and has a cough. Prayers for her complete recovery appreciated!

Praying Sarah is all better. Kevin just had something. Who knows if it was that. Fever for 3 days, cough, sore throat, congestion which is worse now than when he had the fever, and diarrhea once. Could be the same. I'm watching Kristin. she feels cool to me which always makes me nervous. Your chest should not be cool. Increased seizures yesterday but I sent her to school today and I guess she's doing okay. I hate feeling like i'm waiting for something bad to happen. I heard the actual swabs they do for H1N1 are unpleasant so I didn't feel the need to get Kevin tested.
Hope everyone is better soon. Its so early for so many kids to be so sick. Maybe it will get better as people get immunity to it.
