My hemp ones dont smell and they all have been washed together. does microfiber just have stink issues more easily than other kinds if so i think id like to get away from it an do something else i cant stand stinkies and i dont want it to irritate DDS bum she gets diaper rash easy at it is.

I've heard that microfiber can have more stink issues than some other fabrics. My diapers were smelling slightly funky, so I switched detergents. I had been using Charlie's Soap (quite happily for months). I bought some samples of Rockin' Green diaper detergent, which advertises itself as being good for microfiber stink, and it took care of the situation. Now the diapers don't smell. So, now I'm using Rockin' Green for my diapers, and am finishing up my supply of Charlie's Soap by using it for my regular laundry.

I just started overnight diapering after a year for using cloth on my son. I was knocked over with the morning ammonia smell no matter what combo I used, microfiber, bamboo or hemp. After doing some research I went ahead and bought some good old fashioned Tide, and washed all my diapers in it. I have a regular top loader, and city water that is neither hard or soft. My diapers were so so so clean, and this morning I was not greeted by ammonia fumes. We'll see if it continues, but that's what I am doing for my smell issues.

im thinking of giving a different detergent a try like tide or something i also think i may need to try a water softener too im going to pick up a small box next time im at the store and give it a try. I think a lot of it is my microfiber and the hard water at least m neighbors tell me its the hard water.

Some people use bleach on their inserts monthly. Personally I love my Country Save detergent (works great in my hard water) and I strip diapers monthly-ish with Calgon water softener and add Bac Out or a few drops of tea tree oil in each load. I don't have stink issues since I started adding Bac out or tea tree oil.
