Hey there Shannon,

So sorry to hear that Aaliyah gave you a scare!! Hope things are all settled and good now.

Braska didn't crawl til she was a little after 2, at least consistently and comfortably.  But know this...she is delayed in gross motor more than anything else.  Just really really low tone, more than the "norm" for DS, and she's so tiny, it's just hard to get things to work together!  She'll be three next month and still isn't walking.  So don't take our situation as something to expect, just something to use to set your curve of possibilities, so to speak. :o)

As for talking, that's Braska's strength. She's a chatterbox!  But she was almost 18 months before she started actually using words, and only a few at first.  She babbled alot before, though, making lots of different sounds.

At 9 months, I'd not be worrying about any of it yet. Just enjoy her and keep working with her, stimulating her with lots of reading and playtime.  Her therapists will also let you know, or they should, if there are things to be concerned with or working on specifically.  Don't hesitate to ask them, too, for their opinions.

Hi there,

Reese crawled at 11 months.  She started getting up on her hands and knees around 9 months but didn't figure out how to get anywhere until 11 months.

Reese is 18 months now and she does not say any actual words, but she "talks" a lot.  Babbles to herself, her toys and anyone else that will listen to her.  LOL.  She even yells at the TV :)  She started babbling at 10 months.  Mostly she would say da da in the beginning but now she produces a lot of different sounds.  No real words though....

Gosh, it sounds like she gave you quite a scare!  Glad to hear that you were able to get a monitor...

Hi Shannon,

Gianna is 6 months now, she isn't doing much either.  Im just so glad that she is smiling all the time.  She is such a smily and happy baby! She is finally getting pretty good head control.  She can't push up on her hands when she is on her tummy, she can sit for a few minutes if she is resting on her hands, but does a face plant after a few minutes.  She is rolling over, but not totally consistently.  I think getting up on her hands and knees and crawling is a long way off.  So what else is Aaliyah doing? I m sure she is really doing a lot of things that you are really proud of.  I would love to hear more.

Angie

How terrifying to have her stop breathing.

Esther didn't sit up until she was 13 months old.  She army crawled and scooted until she was 18 months the didn't walk until she was 28 months old.   Now she is running and climbing and into everything at 33 months old.

She only sporadically says words.  She signs about 175 words.  She understands everything we say and will follow directions.

Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this? Esther 4:14
