Hi,
I am 12 weeks PP and would like to drop a pump but am afraid of losing supply. I currently pump 7 times a day for 25 mins and get 19 1/2-21 ounces a day. I've tried power pumping and eating oatmeal. I even pump once in the middle of the night. Do you think it's ok for me to drop a pump now? I also have a yeast infection in my breasts that I have had since week 3 and it won't go away!!! Any advice on this?? My doctor gave me the two day dose of diflucan and it didn't work so now I am taking one pill every three days for six doses. I only have 2 pills left and don't feel like it's helped. My doctor says its not safe to take every day for 2 weeks. I've also been taking grapefruit seed extract pills 2 three times a day, taking culturelle probiotics twice a day, putting grapefruit seed extract liquid and water on my nipples after every pump and homemade apno on nipples after every pump also. I sterilize pump parts, bottles, pacifiers once a day and wash bras, burp cloths in hot water with vinegar. Nothing is helping! What worked for you? I just want this GONE!!!

Thanks!
Heather

I think it's okay to drop a pump now. I went to 4 hours between pumps at 12 weeks. I actually gained an oz per day then. I'd say give it a try and if it interferes with your supply you can go back to 7x a day. When I had thrush in my breast I used something called Gentian Violet. It stains and is kinda messy, but one application worked. You can get it at Walgreens or CVS.

Okay. Did you only go 4 hours between pumps in the middle of the night also? I pump at 1:45am now and go until 7:30 or 8. Is this too long? I will try the gentian violet.

Thanks!

I actually do my last pump at 10pm and go all night until 5am after I feed LO. I noticed when I used to pump at 3am I got 3-4oz and then at 5am I'd get 3-4oz. Now I skip pumping at 3 and I get 7-8oz at 5am. So it worked out to be the same for me. You could give it at try and if it diminishes your supply just go back to your middle of the night pump.

Okay, I will try that.

Thanks!
