I use bags to freeze my milk but I have a hard time gettin all the air out before sealing the bag.  I usually have a quarter-size air bubble in the bag when I lay it flat  The instrctions warn to get all the air out to prevent freezer burn.  Anybody else use bags and do you have a problem with air bubbles?

I use the Ameda freezer bags. I have never had a problem with air bubbles, breaks in the bag, or leaking. I have about 2500 oz in the deep freeze. These are the most expensive bags out there (about 50 cents per bag) so I freeze 5 oz per bag to save money.

I figured it made sense to use the best bags on the market since it IS liquid gold that I am freezing! I think I have spent about $200 over the past 9 months on freezer bags. That is about the cost of one month supply of formula so, in comparison, that is not too much.

As for air bubbles...I really doubt that one little air bubble is going to cause too much trouble. I personally would not worry too much about that.

I also use ameda and gerber.. i got mine on sale.. .. and used coupons.. anyway i have no issues with air bubbles.. all i do is stand it up straight and use my fingers to push the air out.. then i zip it part way with a little open at the end.. then use my fingers again.. and zip it up.. so far no issues.

Ok...thanks for your replies.  I'm using the lansinoh bags right now and I like them...I also freeze 5 oz per bag.  I have to figure something out for deep freeze though cause we only have a small freezer atop our fridge and it's already 1/4 full with milk...lol.  I have an oversupply and am putting 10-15 oz in there everyday!  Gonna ask around to some family to see if anybody has a deep freeze they wouldn't mind sharing :)

If you can afford it, a deep 5 cu ft deep freeze from Sears is $180. Great to have. Ours is full of only BM but we will use later for pizza and ice cream! LOL
