moving from deep freezer to fridge freez

Six years ago when I EPed I didn't have a deep freeze, but my MIL did :D so I stored my milk there. It was only a couple of blocks away. When I needed milk from it I would get enough to last about a week and then place it back in my regular freezer at home. It was a bit of a hassle but it worked until my ds left the freezer door open and everything melted...the freezer was kept in the garage.
6-12 months is a big time period, but it's an estimate. The general idea is that if it is frozen and the freezer isn't opened very often then it will last longer. Personally, I think if it's frozen and stays frozen...well, frozen is frozen *shrug* Also, the back of the freezer is typically colder then the front and most certainly the door. And all freezers aren't created equal, so there will be differences.
As for wondering if the milk is bad...from what I've read when it's bad you will certainly know it from a simple smell test.
