discussion title:
Differences between Babywise and AIW
OK, so it's been ages since I spent much time here, but I need some specific info and thought you guys might know it better than anyone. I am also searching ezzo.info for the stuff I need, but might get a quicker answer here.
I want to write to our church pastor because this week there was an edition of Babywise in the church bookstall. The stall isn't run by our church as such, but by a local christian bookshop. They just bring a few books down some Sundays. In the past they have had Sears there which I was pretty impressed with. This week they had Ezzo. While I understand the bookshop has a commercial interest, I'm sure as a church we have the final say as to what books they promote in our church. This is a church that is very supportive of breastfeeding, etc - signs saying "breastfeeding welcome here" stickers everywhere, and at least 4 Australian Breastfeeding Associations counsellors in the congregation. Even when one pastor's wife sprayed the row in front with breastmilk once when her baby came off mid feed, no one battered an eyelid.
One of the main things I want to point out, is that (and this is where I need evidence to back up my claims if asked, because I have heard this, but can't remember where) there are some significant changes to Along the Infant Way, and that Ezzo is using Australia to sell off old copies of Babywise - while AIW is available direct from GFA, christian bookshops are still selling Babywise. Is this true? I don't want to say it is if I can't back it up.
Any other pointers would be good too. I imagine the pastor will be very receptive, and probably isn't even aware of it being sold, so I don't want to be too militant and put him offside.
Thanks all!
