ok our little 7 month old is trying lots of new things lately.  We started the sippy cup, he had "puffs" for the first time and I have started to slowly give him tiny pieces of table food.   So when do I go to the next stage of baby food?  Right now he is still on stage 1 food, but I am thinking that since he is starting to learn other foods maybe he is ready for stage 2.

When did you switch your baby to the different stages of foods?

Thanks!

It sounds like your LO is ready to move up. As long as he can "chew" the chunkier foods then there is no reason he cant have them, but just watch because there are some things, like meats, that shouldnt be introduced until 9 months.

We didnt really do the baby food thing. We started on fruits and veggies pureed, then pureed whatever we were having for dinner, and after that we went straight to table food.

www.wholesomebabyfoods.com has alot of info about what should be introduced at what age.

i read that once baby is used to pureed foods (after about 3 weeks or so), move up and introduce lumpier foods.

i went on the Heinz site and looked up their menus and pretty much followed what they had. also, the wholesome babyfood site is good too (the one that pp posted). go slow and introduce lumpier foods - your LO may gag which is normal. DD who is 11mos is still having lots of trouble with lumpier foods but i think that's my fault because i was afraid of giving it to her too early and now she's having a hard time :(
