Baby's First Year

I have a nine month old beautiful baby girl. Her first two teeth came through on the bottom around 5 months. It has looked like the top ones would be through for months now and just this week something did start to come through. When she smiled you could even see them hanging down. However when I felt them nothing felt hard like a tooth. So at first I just thought this must be the gums as the teeth were coming through. I've never seen anything like this w/her first teeth or even when my four year old son got his teeth. These two gum like things that are hanging there look like teeth in the way they are shaped. The color of them is still kinda pinkish like the gum but have a white hue to them like teeth. The larger one of the two I would say was at least an 1/8" long. All this week I just kept thinking that any day I would feel the tooth coming but that hasn't happened. Then today while I was at work (my daughter goes w/me) a dentist (not a pediatric dentist) came in so I showed them to him. He said that they are in deed her teeth. He told me just to watch them and see how any other teeth may come in and what they may be like. I have a 9 month check up scheduled for her this coming Friday and I will be getting the pediatricians opinion then. In the meantime though this is killing me! :(  I've searched the Internet ever since speaking w/the dentist and can't find anything like this. And since then she had a toy in her mouth and started crying like crazy, here she must have bumped the longer one of the two and it was just hanging there, bleeding. It has since fallen off! Has anyone ever heard of or seen anything like this?? Please help!!
