A place in our area is having specials on insulation/ventilation. I am trying to decide what to do. I know our house is not well insulated, but am uncertain if it's a wise way to use our money. Anyone have any feedback good or bad? I would appreciate it.

We put in attic insulation last year. We did it ourselves.

Summer time the house was much cooler and we saw energy savings. We also have a credit on our budgeted heating bill from last year.

It was worth the money we spent. But doing it ourselves was much cheaper than hiring someone to come in and do it.

Good insulation will save you more in energy costs than what you spend on materials over time.  You will save more, faster, if you do as the PP suggested; it's actually pretty easy to DIY.
