Having my first yard sale!

Good luck on the yard sale. When I have them, I am usually at the point of just wanting to get rid of the stuff so I make my prices really cheap and then what does not sell goes to the thift stores. Most items are priced around .50. I haven't had too many large, more expensive items to sell just things like cookbooks, dishes, crafty type decorations.
I recently went through my kitchen to find things to donate to the church rummage sale and realized that I am a dish hoarder! I love so many types of dishes that I didn't realize all that I have and that it is too much. I need to simplify. I usually buy my dishes at thrift stores and yard sales, but even with the cheap prices I pay, it's still money spent on things that I really don't need. How many party platters do I really need?
I'm right there with you. I think for me, 2010 will be the year of simplicity. Maybe I can recoup some of the money I've spent by having a huge yard sale in the spring!
Let us know how your sale goes!
