What gestation/age did your baby contract GBS? He was 21 days old and died at 24 days old

What was the first sign or symptom that you recognized as worrisome? Did you have unrecognized symptoms before that? He stopped wanting to eat, had an unconsolable cry/wail/moan. I can't describe the sound and hope to never hear it again...it was horrible. He became very lethargic.

Is there any one thing that you wished you knew then that might have made a difference? I wish I knew late-onset GBS existed and what they warning signs were.

Did you know what GBS was when you were told that your baby had GBS? I knew I tested negative. That's all.

Did anyone tell you everything was fine when you were following your instincts? no. they thought he had a stomach bug like my hubby had the weekend before.

Any other words of wisdom for GBS+ moms reading this? just be informed and GO WITH YOUR INSTINCTS> if you feel like you need to take your baby to the hospital or the doctor...DO IT!!!!! Don't put it off for fear of looking stupid. You're the mommy. Take control.

What gestation/age did your baby contract GBS? At birth.

What was the first sign or symptom that you recognized as worrisome? Did you have unrecognized symptoms before that? He was in the newborn nursery when he started having trouble breathing and was sent to the NICU. I didn't have any symptoms during pregnancy or delivery.

Is there any one thing that you wished you knew then that might have made a difference? If there was routine testing 12+ years ago that would have made a big difference.

Did you know what GBS was when you were told that your baby had GBS? I had no idea and neither did anyone else I knew IRL.

Did anyone tell you everything was fine when you were following your instincts? No. He was under the NICU/newborn nursery care since birth.

Any other words of wisdom for GBS+ moms reading this? You already did the best thing for your child which was getting tested.
