Homebirth CNM for well-woman care?
I used to go to an OBGYN for my "well-woman care" but once I discovered that her and I did not see eye-to-eye on natural childbirth, I decided that I would find a CNM once I got PG. The CNM I'm currently using is nice and I have no doubt about her medical knowledge, but we just don't have a warm fuzzy relationship and I think I'd like to try someone else for my next birth. She also lives a good 45 min. from me.
My last annual exam was almost a year ago and when I brought this up to my CNM at my last visit, she said she would do my exam six weeks after I give birth, which is fine by me. Since I don't think I'll use her for my next birth, I really don't want to continue to go to her for my well-woman care (beyond the 6w post-partum visit). I don't want to go back to my old OBGYN either since she pretty much burned that bridge with me, and I don't want to find a new OBGYN only to have to switch to another CNM when I get PG with our next child.
My doula (also my chiropractor) isn't going to be a CNM until probably 2011 and I definitely want to use her for my next birth because we get along fabulously but in the meantime, I need to find a provider to do my well-woman care.
For those of you who have used a CNM for homebirth, what do you do for your well-woman care?
