As you all know, the new board didn't roll out yesterday as planned. We (the cls from both boards) started early yesterday trying to straignten out the situation with being merged into one board or the other. We had worked hard and knew what we had intended. We were all surprised when we found out late the evening before that we were migrating to the parent soup board.
We went ahead and started the merge as ivillage had it set up, but we felt we needed to try to get things set up the way we had worked out. We weren't sure in the morning that we could get a new board, so we went ahead with the ivillage version of the merge.
Since we didn't feel it would be prudent to all bombard our community moderator with our thoughts, Jo Anna did the corresponding. She has been taking care of the correspondences throughout, and has expressed our intentions very well.

I also believe that all of the cls from both boards have done an excellent job of working together to make the merge work out. We have proven (to me at least) that we are a great team!

I would also like to thank everyone on both boards for your patience while we get the new board up and running. It may not be perfect when it is unveilled, but we will certainly continue to to work together to make sure we are a welcoming and supportive community.

I also want to thank ivillage for listening to us when we weren't satisfied with the way the merge was handled. They could have said, "Tough luck, live with it," but they didn't. They graciously went to work trying to make our merge work the way we had intended. (I hope it doesn't fall through)
