A warm fall day, and I have to work and miss it.  Oh well.

We had a really fun Halloween walk last night.  The place had really done a nice job.  It wasn't a scary haunted thing...it was a spoof of history, with "Albert Einstein" taking us in his time travel machine all the way from the caveman to the future.  Each stop had a spoof of a historical event, with from 1-5 costumed actors...and then candy, of course.  I'd say it was over the heads of 98% of the kids (some pretty little kids were out) but the parents were definitely chuckling.  It was about a 1/2 hr walk, including all of the stops of course, and the weather was perfect.  They were happy with their decent haul of candy...and of course, they get more on Saturday ;-)  It was worth the $5/kid admission price and I would take them again next year if the place offers it.

Hoping for a nice quiet last day shift at work...yesterday we were sooooooooo busy.  No repeat of that, please!  After today, I go back on midnights, woohoo!

The K's have ceramics this morning, and then will be helping with cooking class this afternoon/evening.

Well I really hope your work day is slow. It sounds like you had a great time with the K's. I just don't get out enough here, I like that it was a child and parent thing...so many things here for older kids are child only, then I don't get to have any fun, or make a fun memory with them. It is like 5 and up is hand them over to others and go find something else to do, no parenting needed!  We do look forward to trick or treat in the neighborhood. I better go buy more candy, I have been sampling what we had here....bad, me! Maybe I will get some pretzels or something healthier to give out...stuff I wont eat, LOL.  Another night of Dance class, but also Bunco, I love Bunco nights. I hope dh can get the kid at dance tonight, his job has been very busy in the evening hours this week, no getting home in time for evening work here.

Snow here...24F and almost an inch on the ground...dd11 and doglet were out, now dd11 is ichatting with me, says will read to me if I read to her. It's a date. The two foster kittens are snuggled up next to their fake "mama cat", a bottle filled with hot water. (These are foster kittens #16 and #17, more or less.) dh is eating at the cafeteria because it's icy; he walked to work and saw only one car on the road. I have to do some work for work and later I promised to make an apple pie. I had to buy special apples for it because I'm not sacrificing my small cache of local apples in a cooked dish! (Next year I'm gonna have to get more proactive in my fall foraging.)

Lucky you...snow :-)  I haven't seen any white yet, tho K1 claims to have.  She might have, who knows.  My supervisor said our software vendor was supposed to fix a bug we've reported in the software...today...but the company is closed due to inclement weather (somewhere in Colorado, I think?)  Hmmm, don't suppose those techs work from home on snow days, do they, LOL?  Cuz it's a really really annoying bug!
