Today is tennis and grocery day.  After sleep, that is ;-)

Yesterday the K's both went and practiced organ ON the church organ, as opposed to at home.  K2 screwed his head on and had a good session.  K1 fell right into grandma's trap.  She's been saying she doesn't like organ, it's boring, pedals are no fun, etc.  So the other day g/ma played a Bach Minuet (#2, for the Suzuki-minded) pedals only and K1's eyes got real big.  Today, g/ma showed K1 how to do that too and she started working on learning it.  Now she's all jazzed about organ and wants to practice MORE on the instrument.  Ha ha, she has NO idea how sneaky we grown-ups are.  I didn't let on at all that I knew what g/ma was up to, ha ha.  Oh, and since she wears the same size shoe as g/ma, she also inherited g/ma's old pair of organ shoes.  I told her she's not allowed to get bigger feet, because I'm not buying her new organ shoes every time her feet grow, LOL.

She also got a very nice compliment at her flute lesson.  She's been with this teacher just over 1.5 years now, and the teacher told her how she's noticed that K1 has matured musically and is practicing effectively and coming to her lessons prepared and how she as a teacher appreciates with her.  I thought that was so sweet of her to say.

Sue one day we will have to meet up in the middle of the midwest somewhere....at a zoo or something, I love hearing about your cutie kids and there high adventures. Shoes and music were center of our day yesterday. We had to go to a few stores to find winter boots for everyone that fit and also some sort of slip on shoes for running out the door faster so people make it places on time! We found some stuff at the Target and the Payless. Then I have been putting off the buying of needed Music items....stuff for reading music but we finally did that as well. I have got to make the reading lessons more a habit as we are not getting it done on a regular basis....I have no problems with getting a kid to play the piano but sitting to read and learn a NEW language and write a new language....that takes more energy. SO...I hope to be a better music teacher. I can read a very little bit of notes and things from my time singing and taking choir classes in High school but I have no skills at instruments...so applying the little I know to a Piano...harder. Luckily my dh is better at understanding insturments (plays Guitar) and patterns in music but....not so great at the reading of the notes....maybe together we can teach the children at home, who knows, but either way two out of three of my kids will be taking Piano lessons and see a Piano player aka teacher once a week!

Today is Tennis and Dance.... geez it must be mid week the fun never ends! Plus all the errands yesterday means we missed History lessons so I gotta fit that in....maybe skip some of the reading and concentrate on the hands on so it gets done....just the Fall of Rome way Ancient stuff no one test them on unless they take it in college anyway!
