I know I don't post here a lot, I mostly lurk. Some of you might remember some earlier posts.

Anyway, things are not looking so good. My biggest fear is having to be induced.. and as each day grows closer to Oct. it is looking more and more like this is what is going to have to happen.

My placenta is not functioning well. I have GD , and am showing signs of starting to get PRE e agian this time around.  The doc's goal was to get me to 34 weeks ( which is when I had my last dd because of pre e) I am happy I made it that far but now they are doing blood work to check something and will call me if it was no good tomorrow...... I have to go for NST's on Thursday and Tuesday and see the doc every week to see how things are going and as she says...... she doubts were going to continue this much longer....

I just have this fear if we start with pitocin or something it will be to much to fast and no hypnosis in the world is going to help.

Other pain relief for me isnt even an option :(

Anyone ever been induced and succesfully used hypnobabies?

Stressing

TIA

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having some complications.  While I have no experience with the Hypnobabies program, I can say that in my experience as a HypnoBirthing instructor, about half my students who had inductions still went on to give birth without pain medications.   Your hypnosis training can only help you, it won't make your experience worse.

While I don't know what the Hypnobabies program contains and can't advise you on what Hypnobabies tools to use, from a HypnoBirthing perspective, I'd say to continue practicing your relaxation skills and really focus on your affirmations, reminding yourself that your body will give you the labor that you need to birth this unique baby, and that you can handle anything this birthing brings to you.  If there is a release component to the Hypnobabies program like the HypnoBirthing fear release, I'd use this too.

There are times when intervention may be to the benefit of mother or baby's health, and you can still focus on the aspects of your birth plan that are still possible.  Remember that your hypnosis skills will benefit you no matter what type of birth you have.

Good luck Rebecca and keep us posted!

Thanks Mindy :) ,,, I think I started to panic and so took your advice last night and put my ipod on fear release ( repeat) all night long LOL...  I felt a lot less anxious today about it all.....  I guess it was just a bit overwhelming when I went to the doc and they listed this, this , this , that that that, wrong and what they were thinking.. panic mode took over.

The hypnosis does work for my back pain and I have not taken my pain pills for a few months so I just have to keep the faith.

I'll keep you posted. I go back to the doc Thursday

Thanks again :)
Rebecca

So glad to hear that things are looking better today Rebecca.  We're all entitled to our panic moment in pregnancy.  Whatever the doctors say is going on, you have wonderful tools to use during your labor, and whatever they say does not determine how you'll experience labor.  Keep picturing that beautiful birth!
