Hello all. I am 44 yo and planning to have a TR in early 2010. In the meantime, my ObGyn has ordered a full hormone workup to see how everything looks. My Day 3 levels were all within normal limits and looked promising. I had my progesterone level checked yesterday (Day 21) and just found out it is 9.08. The nurse who gave me the results couldn't really tell me what that meant but gave a me a "normal" range of 10.2-25.6. I am going in tomorrow to talk w/ my ObGyn about all of my lab results but would like to get an idea if this level is ok or not. I have found that info on the web is all over the place, and I'm a little nervous that it falls below the "normal" range (although not by much). Any insight you very knowlegable ladies can give me is much appreciated. Jen

Hi Jen,

The thing about the day 21 progesterone level is it assumes that you ovulate exactly on day 14 which most of us do not. It is more accurate if you track ovulation and have the test 7 days after you O. That being said, I would say a level of 9 is fine! I would say it definitely means you ovulated, the test may have just been a day early or late.

Thank you, lookingformy1st, for the encoraging response. I am slowly figuring all of this out. It's funny, in 30 years of having my period, I have never been so in tune and aware of my female cycle. I guess it's true of many of us--whether we have conceived before or not. I am encouraged by my levels so far. Now, I just need to get these damn tubes "untied" so we can really give it a go! That, unfortunately, will have to wait until after the holidays. Very exciting. I wish you all the best as you continue your journey. Jen
