Infertility Support

Yesterday at my RE appt, Dr. K did an internal sonogram and found 4-5 follies on each side.  Apparently that's low.  He said that normally, he'd expect to see 6-10 follies on both sides.  So he also ordered the AMH blood test to double check.  He said not to worry, that the sonogram isn't always an accurate predictor and the blood test will tell us more. 

Does this sound like something I should be worried about?  Or, just a routine "better be on the safe side" check?

Has your FSH checked out normal? See to me four or five on each side sounds pretty good! I started my ivf cycle with 3 on one side and 2 on the other. Prior to that cycle I had my FSH and AMH done again and both came back borderline to being out of normal range. I agree with the dr, wait for your results to come back in before worrying. My follie counts varied from cycle to cycle. How old are you? I feel bad asking that!

LOL...no worries!  I don't think there's much that's TMI on the boards, including age! :-)  I'm 28.  No FSH test yet since I was there on CD7.  Perhaps he'll ask for one of those depending on how the AMH comes back?

I was just so relieved to see follicles at all, having never done an internal u/s before....I wasn't expecting him to say that 5 was too few!  Still hoping they call today with the AMH results...

Definitely have your FSH done as well. My first RE said that AMH alone can be deceiving but both results will give a clear picture. I went back and looked up my results... my AMH was 0.8 and they like it to be between 0.7 - 3.5. The lower the # the worse off so I was right at the threshold. My FSH was 9.2 and they like it under 10.

I hope you get your results today, for some reason my AMH took a week to get!
