i just had my baseline u/s this morning to start my second iui attempt. in talking with the nurse, i found out that i only had 2 mature follies at the time ovulation was induced during my last cycle (after taking clomid 50mg on cd 3-7.) for some reason i thought i had more last time. is this normal?? i hope something else isn't wrong with me now!! (had a lap for stage 4 endo in june, plus cysts removed from both ovaries.)
Clomid isn't about boosting the numbers. I only ever had one follicle on five rounds of Clomid, but my hormone levels during and after O were much better on Clomid. It isn't about getting you to O more, just to O better.
Oh.....so what would the difference be with clomid in terms of hormones or ovulation? I think my progesterone level was much higher the cycle with clomid -- maybe that's what I should be focusing on. My RE clinic is really leaving me in out in the cold, and I don't even see my doctor -- i just meet with the nurses. Does this sound right? I think I need to put a call into the RE tomorrow.
My doctor is having us try Clomid next cycle in the hopes that I will have 2 mature follicles. I didn't realize it was so rare to get 2...but knowledge is power, and I'm so glad to have read all these posts before going into the doctor's office and being disappointed!
