OK, I think it's time for us ladies who know we'll be cycling in December to come out of the woodwork!
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am stressing about cycling over the holidays. My family lives on the other side of the country and we're holding off on booking the airfare until we get much closer. I know we could visit afterwards, but this would be the 2nd Christmas in a row we'd miss and my family just LOVES Christmas. So, I'm hoping the timing works out and I can get ET done in mid-December!
The September thread had an insane numbers of BFPs. Let's keep that going! Ho ho ho!!
How about getting to know each other with some starter details?
Name: Lara
Hometown/Clinic: Boston/BIVF
How long TTC: 3 years come January, weep. 4 IUIs, 1 IVF, 2 BFP, 2 m/c. Details in siggy below.
Any children yet?: Nope, zippo.
Protocol: IVF#2, EPP (estrogen priming). I think it's going to be estrogen patches > Gonal-f/Menopur 300/300 > add in Ganirelix when E2 starts rising > Ovidrel > ER. I'm a very poor responder, 1 follie last IVF.
Estimated stim start date: Aiming for late Nov/early Dec if this current cycle behaves itself and starts soon, I will do estrogen priming at the end of it and get started with stimming at the beginning of the next cycle.
Estimated ER/ET date: Hopefully ER will be @ 12/12 and ET 12/15 or so.
Personal slogan for this cycle: More than one! More than one!
DX in 2003 with Graves disease, RAI treatment 7/03, now managed hypothyroid.
DX with Stage IV endo in 12/07, laprascopy 2/08.
IUI #1 (Clomid) 9/08 - BFP. Lost at 6w3d, D&E in 12/08.
Hysteroscopy in 2/09 to remove polyps.
IUI #2 (Injectables) 3/09 - BFN
IUI #3 (Injectables) 4/09 - BFN
IUI #3 (Injectables) 5/09 - BFN
IVF #1 (EPP Antagonist Protocol) 6/09. 15 days of high stimming, just one follie. Egg retrieved, beautiful HIP 8-cell, grade 1 embie at 3-day transfer. BFN
BFP July 2009 - a shocker of a natural pregnancy. Great betas, perfect 8-week u/s. At first OB appt on 9/9/09, found out there was no longer a h/b. D&E on 9/11/09. Chromosomal analysis inconclusive, assuming chromosomal issues again.
Excisional breast biopsy for atypical hyperplastic cells found on earlier biopsy - 9/24/09. Results negative (the good kind of negative).
Next up:
Post-m/c Saline Sonogram.
December 2009 IVF #2 - EPP Protocol again, swapping 450 Gonal-f/150 Menopur for 300/300, along with requisite Ganirelix.
Yes, I'm getting pretty anxious too! This will be IVF #2. I'll start my Lupron on Nov. 15 and the Gonal-F on Dec. 2. Looking at the calendar, that means I will probably find out whether I'm preggo like 2 days before Christmas - so this will either be the best Xmas ever or possibly the worst. Lol, maybe not the best plan I've ever had. :)
As a kicker, I have to go in for my first estradiol and ultrasound on Nov. 26th.....yup, on Thanksgiving morning. Yay!! Lol.
Anyway, best of luck to you and to all who post here! May we ALL get our hearts desire this Christmas!
Darn - you beat me to the punch!!! :-) I was going to wait til we hit November but now is as good of a time as any to come out of the woodwork.
Name: Ryan Ann
Hometown/Clinic: Boston/BIVF
How long TTC: Officially 3 years in May, Unofficially, it was 3 years in October. 4 IUIs, 3 IVF - details are below.
Any children yet?: If you count DH, 1 but really 0.
Protocol: IVF#3/4 (depending on if you count the 1st one with my old RE). Not exactly sure what it's called as I think it's a hybrid one. I will be doing BCP, waiting for AF then, hiroshima doses of Gonal-F and Menopur -> I think 600 of Menopur and 450 of Gonal-F to be exact, then adding in Ganirelix when E2 starts rising with an Ovidrel trigger. I have had quality issues so we've been tweaking my protocol each time.
Estimated stim start date: Last BCP will be Dec 5. Stims to likely start Dec 12
Estimated ER/ET date: If I stim for 12 days again, ER will be 12/26 and ET would be 12/29.
Personal slogan for this cycle: Quality is MUCH preferred over quantity.

Kate ~ so we'll be the IVF#2 twins, huh? ;) That's horrible and hilarious that you have you do b/w and u/s on TG morning! Hopefully you're staying pretty local? It's very likely I'll need to do the same right around there, possibly on TG too. We're going to my in-laws who are about an hour and 45 minutes from my clinic -- not ideal, but doable. Of course, we haven't told them about all this, so it should be fun trying to think of an excuse to skedaddle for a couple of hours in the morning ;).
I was a little confused by your timeline -- if you start Gonal-F on Dec. 2, I'd guess you'd stim for 10-12 days (unless you're a 15 day freak like me) which would put you at 12/12 or 12/14. If you trigger that night and do ER 2 days later, you're at 12/14 to 12/16. Then even a 5dt would put you at 12/19 or 12/21. So, you probably won't have your beta until early January, no? Did I mess something up in there? If I got your timeline correct, barring any issues with my cycles leading up, I think we'll be almost day-by-day in synch.
Ryan Ann ~ I hear ya about quality over quantity! Though I don't have much choice since I never have quantity ;). I can't remember, have you had to mix meds before for your earlier IVFs? I was so confused by it the first time, but now I'm a mad scientist about it! Are you getting excited for your trip to Disney? Only a month!

You're right I forgot about the two days between the trigger and retrieval - duh! :) I think I'll stim for probably just 10 days or so, and if I make it to transfer this time (none of our embies made it to even 2 days last time) I'll probably start peeing on hpt's immediately to test out the trigger, but you're right that an official beta would definitely not happen that soon. I have heard though that even the hpt's can be pretty accurate at 7-8dp3dt and 5-6dp5dt. Is that not right? I have no idea what to expect when it comes to that. Like I said, anything after the retrieval will be new for us. :)
As for being local...lol, uh yes and no. DH and I are actually going to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on day 7 of stims. I will be monitored by a clinic here in Denver until we leave but the whole thing is so much cheaper in Canada that we just couldn't pass it up. We did our first/previous round up there too and we love our clinic! Not to mention that we get (another) two week vacation! :)
