Anyone do accupuncture with thier cycles?  Just curious if you have found benefit.

I'm going to be going regularly with this cycle and just wondered if anyone had any advise or opinions to share.

I did it twice a week for four weeks up to ER and then before and after ET.  Not sure if it helped or not but I did find it relaxing...and my cycle was successful =)  GL!!!

I have done cycles with and without acupuncture. I didn't see any change in my cycles but I was a lot more relaxed and the cycles were less stressful. Don't know if this had to do with acupuncture or that I am at the end of my rope and really don't care what happens anymore. If it relaxes you, I would say go for it.

Good Luck!

I did acupuncture 3 months before retrieval and still go once a week.  (it's supposed to increase blood flow to uterus).  Not sure what to attribute this to, but my embryo quality was better this time, with acupuncture.  (didn't do it last cycle). Plus, I love my acu, she was an ob/gyn in her native country of china, so it is always nice to get a second opinion!  Plus, very relaxing!  (but very pricey-paid out of pocket for us!)

Good luck!

Andrea

Me (32) DH (33), TTC since 2007.  Partially blocked FT and Male Fertility factor (also a blockage), IVF only option.

IVF #1:  Started Stims on 4/22 (Lupron, Gonal F, Menopur); ER on 5/19- 21 eggs retrieved, 11 mature, 8 fertilized.  5/22 3dt of 2 embryos- one 7 cell and one 8 cell- grade 2.  One 6 cell and one 5 cell on ice. Other 4 did not make it.  Beta#1- 6/2- 5.3 (too low), 6/4 Beta #2- 2.7, AF 6/5.

IVF#2: Micro flare protocol (Micro dose Lupron, Gonal F, Menopur); Stims started 9/17; ER on 9/26- 14 eggs retrieved, 5 mature, 4 fertilized.  9/29- 3dt of two embyos- one 8 cell and one 7 cell- grade 1.  Once 5 cell and one 4 cell on ice.  Beta #1 13dpo = 16.  (praying for an increase!) Beta #2 16dpo =53 (it's a miracle!).  Beta #3 18dpo =125.  Beta #4 20dpo = 382.  Beta #5 23dpo= 1,781 (cautiously optimistic!).  First u/s 10/23 (5w6d, or 27dpo)- showed yolk/sac, Beta #6 was 6,001.  Second u/s (7w2d)- one little h/b beating at 124 bpm.  Next u/s 11/11.  Keep growing, baby!

Hey - I know the acupuncture issue varies for everyone, but we have done four cycles and the two cycles we used acupuncture, ended up with first our DS and our current pg.

We did acupuncture when we started bcp and continued until we were about 8 weeks along. I don't know if was the reduction of stress or the acupuncture itself, but, if we are ever going to do a cycle again, the RE will be my first call and our acupuncturist will be my second.

Best of luck to you in your cycle!!!

Jen
