I will start on lupron tomorrow. This is my first IVF cycle. If everything goes as planned and AF comes when she's predicted next week, I am scheduled for my embryo transfer on either thanksgiving day or the saturday after. I understand the days are set. What about the time? Does the RE select the exact time of day too?

I was hoping that if it falls on thanksgiving, that I will be able to go in the morning and be done. No one in my family knows about this and I don't want to explain why I'm late for thanksgivig dinner in case they want to do the transfer in the afternoon!

There is no way to set in stone your transfer day this early in the game because it depends on how many days you need to stim. Some people respond faster and some respond slower.

If your transfer ends up being on Thanksgiving, let them know you'd prefer to come as early as possible. Chances are they may want to get out of there by the afternoon too!

They told us today that the hcg trigger is 34-37 hrs before ER.  They said they will call us the afternoon of the trigger and tell us what time - they stagger them 30min for each patient - based on available operating room time.

Don't know if that helps, but I liked knowing that they try to target ER in such a small window after the trigger.

    Is that everywhere?

It really does matter how long you have to be on stims. I take a long time. But when we finally got to trigger there are very specific times. DH had to give me the trigger shot in a 5 minute window of the time they gave us. I actually had my egg retrieval on the 4th of July.

But when we did ET I was told not to move for two days. I was flat on my back in bed for 48 hours after ET and then for 36 more hours I was only allowed to sit up to go to the bathroom. So I am thinking if your ET is on Thanksgiving you aren't going to make it to your gathering. Unless your RE lets you move around right afterwards.
