Oh my!!! Bus situation funny! Girls?
Oh my!!!! I just witnessed something that never even crossed my mind.
I *think* Luke might be having a little fan club of girls. ROFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, every day when he has gotten on the bus, I knew I heard the very happy "Hi Luke" from lots of little voices. I just figured they were all friendly to everyone since they are all in the same class on the bus. I always thought that was really nice assuming they did it to everyone that got on the bus (we are almost the last stop). I occasionally see a person turn around and talk to him. I had a chat with him the other day about that because I thought it was HIM turning the other way & that is not good! It's hard to see through the tinted windows though who it was since they are all about the same size & have backpacks. He told me it was someone else talking to HIM.
This morning, I saw something and am dumbfounded basically. I think my mouth fell open and went "OH MY". He went to get on the bus and all I hear is a bunch of shrieking girls with "Luke...sit by me, no sit by me, etc..." with them practically getting out of their seats with him climbing into the bus. I saw one girl had a picture in her hand, that I don't know for sure but almost looked like she was trying to tell him she drew it for him (or was attempting to show him it, since I saw it practically shoved in his face as he was climbing up the stairs!). It literally was as if a celebrity had just entered their presence.
Now, I've seen this happen in other classes. I know when my DD was in school there was this one little boy that nearly all the girls fawned over (except DD, she couldn't figure out what the big deal was with this boy but she thought all boys were "eh, who cares" back then too). I think that went on until about 3rd grade for this one particular boy. My other boys it wasn't even a blip on the radar. I never really saw the girls going crazy over any of the boys in that class anyway (or I didn't notice it due to them being boys).
It's going to be REALLY interesting to hear how Luke's parent/teacher conference goes. It could just be because these girls ride the bus with him every day vs. the entire class but YIKES. Kind of scary from this angle -- poor kid can't even get on the bus without being mobbed to get to a seat.
