There was a big discussion about this on DD's playgroup. Basically it appears that H1N1 is a sub-type of the seasonal flu. So this vax is not radically different from the usual flu vaccines. It was manufactured in the same way. Unless you have an egg allergy it appears that anyone can take this vax though they are targeting the high-risk groups first. As a preschool teacher you would definitely qualify to get it as well as both of your kids.
None of us have ever had a flu vax before. But b/c my DS suffers from chest infections (H1N1 attacks the lungs) I will be getting it for him if it becomes available. They are supposed to be offering it in schools soon. I don't think I will vax my DD b/c she is a very healthy kid. I would have to take her to the GP's and I hate going to that office. We would probably end up catching something else while waiting for the vax.
