OMG!!!  This completly sucks!!! :-)  I am due on the 8 and she is so much advanced than me and she can go that far still with no baby.....I don't want to go over due again....I just want to cry....;-)  I want to have this baby...NOW!!!!

Someone else's cervix in no way indicates when you will go into labor!  Women can be 3 or 4 cm for weeks with no baby.  This does not mean that you can't go into labor with no dilation ahead of time. Dilation is not required for labor to start.  However, there is never any guarantee of going before your due date.  The previous poster was due in late August and I am very sure that her baby has arrived by now!

I relate to your frustration.  With my last baby, my 3rd child, I dilated to 4 cm 2 weeks before I delivered.  The good news is that from start to finish, my active labor was only 2 hours!  I wish you the best of luck and hope you get to meet your baby soon!

You know what is so funny!!!   The same day that I posted the message my water broke that afternoon and had the baby the next day.  Now I understand when people say: "Be careful for what you wish for".... ha ha ha!!!  I had a beautiful healthy baby boy!!!  I am in cloud nine!!!!  So happy I can't even find the words to express it!!!
