Hello libbabikayz624 , welcome to the board and congratulations on your pregnancy!
You didn't mention what week of pregnancy you are in. Remember that most women esp first time moms, don't give birth before their due date. A lot of women seem to expect that they will give birth at 37 or 38 weeks. Labor typically will not start with contractions just a few minutes apart. When you have very little dilation, it would be normal for labor to start with contractions that are anywhere from 15 to 10 minutes apart and most OB/MW would suggest that you come to the hospital or birth center when contractions are 5 minutes apart, lasting a minute long, and have held that pattern for about an hour. In genuine labor, you will find that contractions become closer together, last longer and get stronger over time. If they are getting further apart, are not getting longer or stronger, and you don't have any other signs of labor then it's likely not active labor.
The best things that you can do right now are to stay active during the day - plenty of wal, sex if you're up to it and your water is intact, stay well hydrated and try to get plenty of sleep at night
Good luck and I hope you'll be posting a birth announcement soon.
