What a miserable day here! It has been raining ALL DAY, a real steady, sometimes heavy with thunder, sometimes lighter but still all day rain. The day has been gray and dreary and wet, sometimes pretty dark when the heavier rain came through. It's absolutely pouring right now. Normally I don't mind some rain, but it's been raining here a lot lately, and today it's just too much. The kids are off school today, because of parent teacher conferences. I was hoping for a chance to sleep in, even just a bit, so I offered to let my 3 nephews that I babysit stay overnight, rather than have their dad drop them off at 7 or 8am. No problem. Except MY 4 and 2 year olds can't read clocks, so they were up at their usual 7:30am, immediately wanting food. I was feeling lousy...turned out I have a fever, terrible sore throat, achy. I've had strep throat often enough that I thought that's what it was, it felt like it. So...I had 8 kids here today, DH works from home but had some important conference calls he could not miss. The preschool boys (my son and my nephew) had preschool, and their fall harvest party in the afternoon, and I felt like a truck had hit me. Oh, and of course we also had Parent Teacher conferences today. Thankfully my mom and dad came through, I could leave the 4 older kids playing games at home with DH, took the younger 4 to my mom and dads, we got the boys dropped off, got me to the dr., confirmed strep through (oh yay), got my abx, picked the boys back up, and dh took the older ones with him to P/T conferences without me. So, here I am, feeling icky, ready for my nice warm bed but DH has to make up some work time he had to take off earlier today and this week, I have no idea what to feed anyone for dinner and I don't feel like making anything, not hungry anyway. At least my sister has come and picked up her 3 boys, so I only have my own 5 right now, but I'm about done for today! :P

(((hugs))) - I hope you get a good night's sleep. I feel for you, I really do. I actually had three extra kids here today (and their mom) for a party and I'm still recovering from the flu and have a mean bout with m/s going on. It's miserable. I hope relief comes for you very soon!
BTW, I second that "what's for dinner" thing. I was about to "whip up" (boxed) mac and cheese but DH came home and said he was fixing spaghetti. Now I'm hiding out trying to work but mostly gagging and trying not to throw up. You have ALL of my sympathy, girl!

{{{Robynne}}} That is one seriously stinky day. I totally understand what you mean about the rain. It has been like that here for the last 6 months and it is driving me insane.
I hope you got through dinner and you were able to get to bed early. A good night's sleep along with those antibiotics should help tomorrow be a lot easier.
Hang in there. One more day and it is the weekend. :)
Ugh, I hope you are feeling better really soon! I can't believe you had your nephews sleep over - taking care of them EXTRA time - instead of just telling them you couldn't babysit! You are a saint.
