Why can't I get motivated??

I just wrote a whole long vent about caffeine but I got a check about it. So I'm starting over.
After researching the studies on the internet I've come to the personal conclusion that researchers CAN NOT get it to line up that moderate caffeine consumption is harmful. The problem is figuring out what to tell women is "moderate". If they set the limit at the "real" limit people will not follow it exactly, or unintentionally go over and harm their babies. So they adjust an average limit but still call it dangerous and you best just not have any at all, as it has to be best. Well, I can agree with that statement, BUT...there are about a hundred other life style changes you should make also that are not good for you or your baby, but they are accepted for one reason or another, probably your health or your baby NOT being the number one factor, but the unlikeliness of change, and what's good for business.
Of the studies I've found that have a negative conclusion are because of the enormous amount of substance used while being studied, *well* beyond what would be considered "safe or good" for ANY person to consume. Most of the time the actual amount is hidden and expressed vaguely as "high amounts". Every single thing on this earth is harmful when a high *enough* amount is consumed. I did find one study on caffeine that said that their "high amount" was 8 or more cups (approximately 1200mg of caffeine)...which to me, seems like anyone would know that that much isn't *good* on a daily basis pregnant or not.
My biggest beef is that the medical and science community presents things as fact when they just don't know and they choose to only test the things that are convenient or socially correct enough to mention.
I say if you are miserable and having a really rough day, have a cup (5-6oz) or you could drink about 3 cans of pop, or 150 Hershey kisses...yes, per day. That would equal the "lowest minimum" of 150mg recommended per day. To me that doesn't seem very "low" as I'd never consume that much on a daily basis pregnant or not but then I'm more of a pop and chocolate kinda girl rather than a coffee drinker.
Here's a great site I found about the amount of caffeine in drinks and food: http://www.energyfiend.com/
Thanks to Dedi for my siggy!
