We're with you on all three :)
Dh is from the UK, where, in general, Christians don't have anything to do with Halloween. It's a much darker, somewhat less commercialized holiday there, so he was a little scandalized to find out when we were dating that I had trick-or-treated every year of my life! I had some misgivings about it by the time I was in high school anyway, so it was easy for me to agree not to do it with our own kids.
We do have our own tradition: Chipotle Grill gives out free burritos for anyone wearing a burrito/Mexican food costume on Halloween, so we all wrap up in tin foil and rack up about $40 worth of free food - enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow too :) (We do the same thing wearing cow costumes at Chick-Fil-A in the summer, so it doesn't feel Halloween-y to us.)
As for Christmas and Easter, we don't try to stop extended family from talking about Santa and the Easter bunny, but we set them straight when we get home - LOL!, being careful to explain that they need to be sensitive to the fact that their friends probably *do* believe. That's a tricky one, I'm finding :\
Thanks, Brooke (brookie2727)!
