Prairie Provinces

It's Ryan's first day of school today.  It's kind of sad that the summer is coming to an end.  We had a real good one.  It was nice to be home with the kids the entire time.  We went to the park, played in the sprinkler, and the kiddie pool in the back yard, Ryan and my niece went to bible camp for a week.  We had my niece here for at least half the summer.  It was all real nice.

Now I guess it's back to reality though.  It will be much easier for me to get on here.  I won't have to fight Ryan for computer time. lol

How about the rest of you?  How was your summer?  Does September bring any changes for you?

End of summer is always good & bad! I have had a pretty good summer but it flew by! I don't think I like taking my holidays right at the end....Although we had a great holiday! We went first to the inlaws -just for three days - then off to pick up Ethan! We had him for five days at my dad's cottage. Dawn and Geoff came Friday till Saturday, my dad and his wife were there off and on, we all wen to my cousin's wedding which was lovely! Got to spend an evening and morning with my favourite aunt & Uncle and a couple cousins. Then John and I had 6 days alone together which was awesome ;) We just took our time coming home through the states and stopped for a couple days in one place - loved it!

Now fall is here and life is good...Shona is taking a very full course load full time + so that she can finish grade 12 this year. We aren't pushing for this (she is) and if she ends up dropping a couple courses I would be happy! So we will see. Friends of ours moved here from Alberta and their son is going to Shona's high school too and she's being very helpful to him which I am quite pleased about (she can be a little self centered!). Jonathan is working full time + as well this fall and going to University full time in January again. I'm attaching a couple pics from our trip.

Ethan is so cute!!  Is he going to be a truck driver like his grandpa?  I'm glad you had a nice trip.  It must have been great to have Ethan all to yourselves for awhile.  Have they all settled in?

Shona and Jonathon both sound real busy.  I hope it all works out for them.  Is there a particular reason Shona wants to finish high school this year?  No one really wants to be there longer than necessary, but does she have plans for next year?  Does she know that she's really too young to be graduating?  I still think of her as 13. lol

I LOVE the fall, especially when the kids go back to school and get back into their routines.  It is refreshing to cool off after such a hot long summer.  I think we had a really nice September here weather-wise.  I wonder if we're going to have snow for Halloween?

We pretty much hung around town all summer because this was our first year running our restaurant.  I think we're going to go to Toronto for Christmas this year.  I haven't been home for Christmas in about 6 years so it's time.  Plus, I want to spend some time with my new nephew that I've only met once about a year ago.  He is turning one tomorrow.
