Ours was fairly quiet. DH has put some heavy duty charges on our lines of credit and told me he would rather I put the money we would have spent on candy towards our debt. So I did. Made me sad I wouldn't get to see some of my kids from school all dressed up. Then a family in our ward came by and and I had to tell them we didn't have any candy. About an hour later, the dad came back and handed me a bag of candy. He said they had way too much. So I got to hand out candy for about an hour before the trick-or-treaters stopped coming. We are so blessed to have such good friends in the ward.
My 12yo did go out trick-or-treating and brought home quite a haul. She walked her legs off. Even with the extra hour I had a hard time getting her up for church on Sunday.
We had all of our dress up and class parties at school on Friday. Being a Kindergarten Aide, I got to march in a costume parade twice. I was SOO tired by the time I got home! It was fun though. My costume was a big hit again this year. :)
My 18yo DD's friend she dated in HS invited me to be with him and his family as he went to the temple for the first time in preparation for his mission. So that is how I spent my Saturday morning. It was such a wonderful and uplifting experience that I didn't want to get back into the Halloween celebration. It made for a nice weekend.
I battled a headache all day Sunday and watched the CES Fireside on BYUTV at home. I was able to find my daughter in the choir and President Uchtdort gave a fantastic talk!
For the most part, it was a good weekend.
