My 5 year old was sick last fri/sat/sun fever that stayed high with meds, body aches, headache and sore throat. No congestion or cough though. He was fine by by day four and back to school on day six.

Now I've got it, bad body aches, tonsils look like rotten meat, high fever (stays at 101 even with meds) head pounding off, again no congestion or cough. I'm on my third day and feeling a little better. Living in the bed, epson salts bath or hot shower for the aches.

Not felt in danger enough to go to the Dr, may ask for titers in a few weeks to confirm.

Kinda doesn't sound like the swine flu to me, but it does sound like strep throat.  Watch for a rash on your child.  It could be a strep rash.  Cough is THE big symptom with swine flu.

Really, I've known a few people confirmed with no cough and one with the stomach version. I thought the biggest indicator was the non-reducing fever. My sore throat didn't come until near the end...

I think I'll get the titers and see what happens.

I guess it's possible you have. I've researched different websites and they are all basically saying the same thing.
I don't guess it would have to be exactly the same in everyone.

I think my daughter and I both had it because we knew it was really going around in our area. Tons of people going to the hospital with it and it was known to be in our schools. We both had the exact same symptoms but hers was more severe. We had fever, chills,really,really prevalent cough (my main symptom), a little congestion but not like with a cold, headache (and I had a neck ache too), muscle aches (I didn't have, I guess because my fever wasn't as high as hers.) Also, we were really tired. I guess my throat was slightly sore but probably the advil and tylenol I was taking made it better. She vomited once and I didn't really have much nausea. I did off and on but never
vomited.

Hope this helps.

How do I know if I have the flu?

You may have the flu if you have some or all of these symptoms:

* fever *
* cough
* sore throat
* runny or stuffy nose
* body aches
* headache
* chills
* fatigue
* sometimes diarrhea and vomiting

*It’s important to note that not everyone with flu will have a
fever.

What are swine flu symptoms?

Symptoms of H1N1 swine flu are like regular flu symptoms and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, headache, chills, and fatigue. Many people with swine flu have had diarrhea and vomiting. Nearly everyone with flu has at least two of these symptoms.
