My DH and I are planning a quick weekend "away" for our anniversary and want to come up to Cleveland because DH really wants to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  We are looking at staying at the Ritz or maybe the Renaissance?  We also want to go to a really great dinner - price is no object!!  (This is how we're splurging since we aren't even leaving the state!)

Does anyone have any advice as far as the hotel or a restaurant or anything else downtown we shouldn't miss?  Both hotels are pretty much the same price, but I want this to be really romantic and fun.  So - any advice would be great.  We also thought about going to the Science Center.  Would it be fun for a couple of adults (My DH acts like a kid most of the time anyway)  Any and all advice would be helpful!

TIA!  Molly

I've not stayed at a hotel in Cleveland, so I'm not any help there with personal experience, but the ads for both places always look great :)

Morton's Steakhouse is good.  We've been to the one in Columbus.

Honestly, I'd be very tempted to try the Food Network's Iron Chef Micheal Symon's restaurant Lola.  http://www.lolabistro.com/  I don't know if the splurge would be worth it or not, but...

I really like the Science Center, but that is my kind of thing.  On the weekend there are a ton of children's groups taking classes and families.  If you are wanting to escape children it might not be the way to go.

I know I would enjoy a visit to the art museum.  The visiting exhibit is Tiffany and Fabrage (sp?).  I'm sure that would have my DH in pain though.  lol.

Has anyone been on the Nautica(?) Dinner Cruises of Lake Erie?    I was on a dinner cruise in Pittsburgh years ago and thought it was pretty cool.  I'd think one on Lake Erie would be nice.

It's been many years, but I've been to the Ritz Carlton, downtown on business and it was very nice.  You can dine right within the hotel and walk to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.   I've heard the club level is luxurious.  Also, have you considered the Crowne Plaza?  The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is awesome!  Another place for fun would be the Cleveland Flats.
