winter has come early for us here, being cold and rainy outside. I have no experience with toddlers, so I really need some ideas for now that we can't go out. Please help, we're just sitting and staring at each other lol

Ugh, I hate nasty days!  A few things we have done:

-Stickers -- I actually use those charity address labels you get tons of, because they're free and they stick lightly enough that I can get them off the floor or the dog easily.  : )  Craft stores have foam stickers that are great too.  You may have to peel the backing off for her but give her some paper and let her go.

-Crayons -- Yes, they say 2 and up, but Galete had them as early as I think 15 months or so and she was fine.  I got the thick triangular ones, totally washable (I got blue crayon off my white untreated dining room chairs with a baby wipe).

-Music -- We loooooove the Sandra Boynton CDs, which come with a book with lyrics and pictures.  Very funny, mostly animal themed, but really good music too, like blues, rock, and Broadway.  There are four.  Galete's favorite now is Dog Train, which is rock, but when she was a young OYO she loved Philadelphia Chickens, which has more animals.

-Free activities -- My town's library has once a week story times that are free, and there's a local mother's group that has free activities too.  You can start with your town, church, or meetup.com to see if you can find something.

If I think of more I'll let you know!  Here's to warm and sunny days ahead...

Some of our favorite activities (got most of them at Quirky Momma):

shaving cream - they love banging it and rubbing it around.
bubbles
finger painting with pudding or kool-whip
stacking blocks
hide-n-seek
playing with or in big boxes

Photobucket Thank you Karen (Singingclaypearl) for my totally awesome siggy! I Love www.QuirkyMomma.com trolls

Hello!

It can be difficult to keep little ones busy indoors all winter long!  iVillage has a great craft and activity page for toddlers you should check out.  Homemade playdough is a big favorite in my house.  I'm thinking that finger painting with pudding may be something to try as well.  It sounds messy but fun!

Crafts/Activities: Toddlers- http://parenting.ivillage.com/tp/tpactivities/topics/0,,4rvh,00.html?ice=iv:mb:msg:kp

Good luck!  I hope you find some new fun ideas to try with your little one.
