Hope your weekend is more of a "treat" than a "trick"!  :-)

I thought I'd drop by and tell everyone Happy Halloween. We are going trick or treating with Alayna's friend and her parents. They live on the same street as us. :)

Happy Hallowe'en!  Hope you enjoyed trick or treating.

We don't go trick or treating as there aren't any children of Victoria's age in our bit of the street.  Her BFF goes out where she lives, and always has;  she loves it!  I did hear a couple  of groups of children pass our house but luckily no-one rang the doorbell.  DH was sleeping before going to work tonight so would have been less than happy.  No-one came last year so I hadn't bought any candy - or to be more truthful I had bought some but I ate it myself!!

Victoria had orchestra and then dance.  DH and  I went out for breakfast and we seemed to spend a lot of time driving about the city for one reason or another.  In the afternoon we went to a concert and the orchestra and some of the audience was dressed up in various  costume, some had scary masks on which I just don't like!  They played apprapriate music  like Harry Potter, Jaws and the Time Warp (with the words changed a bit for children!)

I still have a cold so keep sniffing and sneezing.  I actually feel worse than yesterday! :(

The whole Halloween thing seems to be really taking off here now, which I quite like to be honest. I think the whole thing is a lot of fun :) Mitchell was upset that we suggested that he was too young to go trick or treating but in the end he got really into being the one to go to the door and hand out lollies. To be honest, a big reason we said no is that we didn't really know how it all works and what age kids do it or anything. All the kids were older than him though so I think that helped :) Next year we'll try and organise for him to go with a couple of friends.

We also bought a new Christmas tree on Saturday but it didn't fit in the car so the boys went back with the trailer on Sunday to pick it up. Sunday was World Vegan Day and it was so fantastic to go to an event and share the day with tons of other vegans and tons of awesome food and lots of other interesting things. I tell you one thing, feeling deprived food wise is definitely not a good reason to not go vegan as there is so much amazing food!! And most of it was samples so I didn't even have to pay for it! I also got some information on a no-kill shelter that I'd like to get more involved with once uni is over. The day really inspired me to do more to help animals though, it was great!

Today I'm getting stuck back into this dreaded assignment but feeling much more motivated after the wonderfully inspiring day yesterday so I'm hoping to get it submitted tomorrow.

Whew, busy weekend here. Friday night was trick or treat. It was VERY windy and a bit cold, but at least it wasn't raining. There were tons of leaves on the ground, so we got to go crunching and swishing through them (I love that!) We finished up at my mom's house with some chili and Travis ate a TON of candy. :-)

Saturday morning he had hockey. He had a friend over for the afternoon, and then they went to a Halloween party together that night. It was at a local church and they got to wear their costumes and play games, etc. Travis had a great time until right as they were leaving his friend fell/was pushed and chipped his two front teeth. Poor kid! I guess it was very traumatic and Travis felt so bad for his friend.

Saturday I went to a baby shower for my niece. She is due just before Thanksgiving but is measuring big so might get induced sooner. I can't wait to have a new baby boy in the family!

Today we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast after church, then ran a few errands. Dh and Travis went over to my in-law's house to help FIL with something for a few hours, and I took a nap. :-)

My mammogram is tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!
