What have you done with all the candy from Halloween -- that received from trick-or-treat, parties, festivals and etc. and that leftover from what you handed out at the door?

Hi Gina

I bought some chocolate to hand out in case anyone came to our door - but I ate it all before Hallowe'en!  No-one has come round for the last 2-3 years anyway.

Victoria doesn't go out trick or treating or "guising" as it is traditionally called in Scotland although  everyone just uses the American word now!  She was a bit jealous of 2 of her friends who went out and got candy but don't live very near us.  She would have been too scared to go out anyway!

We never buy that much; we know we don't get that many kids.  And M@ hasn't TorT'd for many years, and when he did we had candy for months.  Note I have bowls of candy out all the time - that way none of us have 'cravings' or anything; we eat far less than others - I see kids come over and just take bowls and sit and eat all evening.  For us, a piece on occasion is fine.  I grew up that way, so I continued it - it seems to work...  So it'll just be in the bowl for months.

We have given most of it away to Amy's friends! It was amazing how much we had even with her cutting the time she would have normally trick-or-treated in half.

I need to go through it and throw out all the stuff I know no one will eat. Then we just eat the rest as we want it. Travis loses interest in it pretty quickly, after eating a LOT the first night. Like you, Sue, we usually have some kind of candy available in the house so it's not like he goes crazy for it.

If we have a lot still sitting around in a few weeks I'll probably take some of it with me to our trivia night.
