I came back to work today and don't feel too bad apart from a cough. It is so wet outside - lots of umbrellas about - and the sky is grey.
I have a Parent Council meeting tonight at school. Hopefully it won't last too long. I'm the Secretary so I really need to be there to take the notes. Victoria hates it when I go out in the evening!
Victoria is now in the "accelerated" spelling/writing group in her year as well as "acccelerated" maths. It means they go to a different teacher for these subjects for some of every day except Friday and they have harder homework. Of course, this just happens; they don't discuss it with parents first and they don't even offficially inform us of it. Parents Night (parent/teacher conference) is coming up at the end of November and we can arrange an appointment with the "Special Needs teacher" as well as the class teacher. In Scotland, under very recent legislation, "Additional Special Needs" covers children with learning disabilities who need extra help and also children who are particularly successful learners who need a challenge!
