Tonight we have Bonfire Night.

There is a big display in town but because of the amount of traffic going in, it's impossible to go by car and you need to leave over an hour early to be able to get on a bus or train.  Twice in the past we've set out to go and then given up after getting stuck in traffic or finding all the buses full! The display lasts less than an hour but there is a fairground aswell. We might go if it stays dry.  Victoria should really go to her swimming class instead and if we don't go the sky is still full of fireworks as there are smaller displays everywhere. There used to be one across the road from our house but I don't think it's held any more.  I might buy a few sparklers for her to hold if I can find any. 

When I was young and lived out in the country we used to have a big bonfire for all the local farmers etc.  We built a big fire which was still burning the next morning and everyone bought a box of fireworks.  One of the highlights of my childhood! 

    

                

Tonight Brionna has gymnastics pictures but doesn't have practice. They have a meet on Saturday so I wish she did have an additional practice.

Brionna brought her report card home yesterday. All good news thankfully, she got 7 A's and 7 B's. We will have conferences next week but only with her homeroom teacher. They have three teachers this year for their core classes but we only get to see one of them. We can request to talk to the other teachers on another day though if there is a problem. I may just email them to make sure everything is ok. Social Studies and Science are probably Brionna's hardest subjects for her this year and both of them are not her homeroom teachers classes.

Brionna has decided she wants to have bangs. I am not too crazy about it but I told her we could go get her hair cut on Sunday.

Brionna was telling me that yesterday in gym class they had to see how many sit-ups and push ups they could do in so much time and then how far they could jump from a certain spot. Brionna said she beat all but one boy on the situps and pushups. I thought that was pretty funny that she beat almost all the boys in her class. She did like 35 pushups, I can't even do that many, the boy that beat her only did one more than she did both on the situps and pushups! She couldn't remember how well she did on the jumping thing though.

well that should have said Thursday Thought, my computer is going slow and I guess it didn't finish typing ;-).

Hope you are all well today. I'm in a much better mood than I was at the beginning of the week :)

Today our lawyers go to court to request a dismissal for this frivolous law suit that has cost our business over $100,000 in lawyer fees. The theft in our Laredo store is really adding up, over $40,000 now....sigh we're getting ready to turn that into the police and see what they'll do. I just don't understand people, stealing would never even cross my mind, what makes them do this?

Oh and for a change of pace I'm going to a NBA game next week with my girlfriend! We're going to see the San Antonio Spurs play the Dallas Mavericks play on Wed. My first ever NBA game it should be fun!

Paige brought a snack to school today, extra cheese goldfish. :) Tomorrow is parent teacher conferences so we can sleep in and she has the day off. We also are going to visit a nursing home with the Girl Scout troop, fun day!
