Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to be "moving over" here from PAL! We had twins on 9-9-09. Hailey Rose and James McLaughlin. Hailey went home with us and little baby James has been in the NICU. He was growth restricted. During my pg the docs realized at 28 weeks that he wasn't getting enough food from my placenta. I went for sonos three days a week from 28-36 weeks to make sure he was okay. At my 36 weeks appt they saw his fluid was low and told me they were going to deliver me that night!

I drove to the hospital and checked in and 7 hours and a c-section later, we had two babies!! James was 3.4 pounds, but is up to 3.8 now and if he gains everyday he might come home next week!

Just wanted to introduce myself!

Welcome Shayna, so happy to see you here! Congrats on your twins - love their names. By any chance, have you been tested to see if you have blood clotting disorders of any kind? I had similar issues with my DD - was hospitalized from 30-32wks and on home bed rest from 32-36wks because of low amniotic fluid and her heart rate was dipping. Her growth also went way down. I was induced at 36wks, which turned into an emergency c/s. All along, they thought I had an unexplained virus. After a bunch of testing and analyzing hospital records (doc informed me my placenta was white when it came out - due to blood no longer flowing through it), turns out I am borderline for two different blood clotting disorders, and for whatever reason it is agitated by pregnancy. They now think that's what caused my m/c at 13-1/2wks. This time around, I am on heparin, and it's going WAY better. Anyway, your story sounds so similar to mine, I had to say something! Regardless of whether you plan to have more children, it might be worth looking into (if you haven't already). Congrats again and welcome to PG!

Hi!
I have a doc appt today so I will ask about getting tested. Oddly enough I woke up at 6am yesterday with shooting pains in my lower stomach, this went on for SIX hours. It was awful. Then I went to the bathroom and passed a huge blood clot. It felt like a baby's head! After that I felt so much better. I went in to the doc for a sono and they said everything looks good with my uterus but I go back today to see the doc again. I just want this "healing" to be OVER! I had no idea it was so hard to recover from a c. I guess I was naive!
Anyway, thanks again for the idea!
