Well my DD (13 months) is down to 1 nursing in the morning pretty much. Lately shes been trying to even pass that up -(she knows a few signs)shes signing for food instead of num-nums. ALthough I still offer it her eagerness is fading quickly, and when she does nurse its so short now. I know it will have its benefits having a break before DD#2 gets here (Im 21wks) but Im so sad to know one morning soon its just going to stop, it probably would be done right now if I didnt offer it and be patient. So I guess were done - Im just so bummed.

Is your milk supply dropping with pregnancy? My DD slowed down a bit as the supply dropped... at about the same age and same spot in pregnancy. But now I'm 34 weeks and she (15.5 mo) has picked back up even though there is no milk... I think she must be getting colostrum now and is encouraged by that. Or maybe she just senses 'new baby' in the air and feels more need to cuddle.

Anyway... maybe yours will pick back up too. Hey, we can dream, right? :)

I know people think I'm so crazy to be looking forward to tandem nursing... but I just think it is going to be so good for my toddler. She is 'Miss Independent' and nursing is her main hold on her natural need to be a baby now and then. I want her to still have that when the little one gets here so she won't feel 'replaced'.

Kristy
