I know this was posted forever ago and goodness you've probably had your little one by now but I wondered if I could talk to you about your pump.  I was diagnosed with Type 1 when I was pregnant with my DD.  They put me on NPH and Humalog and I did injections for the rest of my pregnancy.  I got an insulin pump about 3 months ago and am still trying to regulate my #'s.  The thing is I just found out I'm pregnant (today!) and I'm concerned as to how I can do that with my pump on my own.  What did you do differently that brought your A1C to such a good level?  Mine is normally around 6.4 but it was 6.8 about a month ago (after starting the pump) because I had a few weeks of trying to figure out my #'s so I had alot of highs.  I'm just not quite sure what to expect.  Thanks so much if you take the time to read through this!  :)

I am not sure if anyone responded to you or not but I am 26 weeks pregnant and started my pump the week before I found out I was pregnant. My AIC through my entire pregnancy has been 5.5 or lower. I am only on humulog. My insulin has been going up and down since my pregnancy has progressed because I was on progesterone for the first trimester then the levels went down, then I got a sever UTI which raised my levels and finally I am just much bigger now. But overall my levels are really good and I make sure to keep them as low as I can. Let me know if you have any pump questions. I have found the pump to be a bit of a pain but great for keeping my levels down and to constantly remind me to take blood sugars.

Good Luck.

Rachel

Thank you so much for replying Rachel!  Congrats on your little babe. :)  I am on progesterone as well but my levels have been decent the last few days. I still need to lower my fasting and my post meals (only when I eat candy or lots of carbs!) but overall they're been decent.  Any words of wisdom as to what you're eating, etc.?
